Staylive elevates Hockeyettan coverage through innovative sublicense agreement with leading media entities.

August 23, 2023

Staylive, the global leader in live sports streaming, today confirms a groundbreaking sublicensing agreement with media giants Bonnier News, Gota Media, Expressen and NTM. This strategic collaboration continues the progression in making Hockeyettan league content easy to locate, watch and experience and in doing so further increase audience engagement and immersion.

As part of this agreement, all Hockeyettan games will continue to be surfaced on the league destination platform live.hockeyettan.se. In addition, each participating media house will broadcast the matches of their respective local teams, both home and away, through their popular regional digital media outlets. This convergence of media delivery provides greater choice and optionality at local levels through existing digital relationships and media brands - Together, the combined media entities collectively embrace 22 teams under their coverage umbrella across the whole of Sweden.

“Extending the coverage and availability of the league through a nationwide network of media outlets brings our passionate fans closer to the action”, said Jens Israelsson, CEO of Hockeyettan.
“We recognise that our passionate fan communities have a need to interact with us and their teams through many different digital channels. The fact that we can serve all of those through a common technology platform in Staylive highlights further the strength of their capability and the importance of our relationship”.

Fans seeking a complete view across the entire league ecosystem and full access of all games, back catalogue and shoulder programming will continue to be served through the leagues direct-to-consumer offering.
"The relationship established with Bonnier News, Gota Media, NTM, and Expressen demonstrates the flexibility of the Staylive Platform in providing not just direct-to-consumer capabilities, but also game changing B2B functionality.” Said Pontus Karsbo, CEO Staylive. “This agreement is a reflection of the increased access expectations of fans through multiple digital sources, and how highly optimised technologies, like the Staylive Platform, can and should be used to increase efficiency, fan experience and revenue performance, from a single source”.
